The Best Ways

to Pray

Over the years i have experimented with soooo many different prayer routines + different types of prayer. it's hard to stick with

just one forever, our lives + schedules change + we ourselves change.

We have busy lives + even sometimes when we have our schedules all planned out perfectly, things don't always go as planned!

But that's normal + totally okay!

Trust me when i say that there will never be ANYONE who gets it right the first time, i can totally promise you that. Like anything else,

it's a learning process.

The key to a successful + fruitful prayer life is making time for it + being open to it.

if you're open, maybe even just a little, you will always get something from it. i can't tell you how many times i've been told this over +

over again. But it's absolutely so true.

So many times i've gotten so frustrated because i wasn't open to what God might be asking of me.

And i can tell you without a doubt that those were my darkest + loneliest moments. Those were the times where i felt most distant from Our Lord.

i just wasn't open, whether it be my vocation or a relationship that i was in where i was happy and i wasn't open to the fact that maybe

he wasn't calling me to be in it. ( i'll get into this a little more in one of my upcoming blog posts )

so im going to share with you three ways of prayer that have helped me + fit my lifestyle + schedule, i pray you enjoy them + i hope they

help you in some way.

1. reading + reflecting over the daily readings

  • i have learned that reading + reflecting over the daily readings is a great way to start diving into Scripture if you aren’t used to reading the Bible often

you can subscribe to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (usccb) + they will send the daily readings to your inbox ! i will link their website below:

2. journaling

  • i have found that journaling is my favorite way to pray, just reflecting over things, whether it be over Scripture or your struggles + joys

  • journaling has truly helped me through my hardest, confusing + loneliest times. writing everything down made it so much easier to deal with + figure out things than just holding it all in.

looking back at all of my journal entries, i can see how far i have come + how much i have grown. but i can also see where i fall short + it shows me how i can improve.

there are other ways you can journal as well like for instance writing down things that inspire + stick out to you through Scripture. also writing down quotes + things others have shared with you

3. music

  • music is a very helpful + beautiful way to pray. St. Augustine tells us that singing is praying twice. wow what a beautiful thought, + if you are like me i love singing + listening to Jesus jams

24 / 7

  • another great thing about Christian music is that even if you have nothing to say or don’t know what to say, just listen to the words of the song + let something touch your heart + then reflect + pray over that. let that be your prayer

like I said before im no expert at praying but it is crucial to our lives + the way we live our lives, so i hope this blog post truly

helps you ! also, if you have any other ways of prayer you enjoy please, please shoot me an email i would love to explore new ways of

prayer ! please if you have any questions, prayer intentions, or anything please contact me

i would be honored to hear from you
